If you've been searching for a wedding venue that epitomizes beauty, relaxation, comfort, and convenience, look no further than Toccoa House Properties.
As a wedding venue in Blue Ridge for couples in Marietta, GA, Toccoa House Properties is simply magical, where the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains meets the country-chic vibes of modern Appalachia. It has a distinctly custom-built feel, and for good reason. Nearly every inch of the property - from the luxurious cabins within walking distance of one another to the heated pool and more - was purpose-built for exceptional events, like weddings in Blue Ridge.
It all started when Oregonian Greg Spencer initially discovered the Blue Ridge area on a backpacking trip to the Cohutta Wilderness in the 1980s. A short time later, enamored of the area, Greg embarked on a land-purchasing mission that led him to 17 acres of undeveloped acreage. Amazed by the beauty of the Toccoa River and the inspiring views of the surrounding mountains, Greg wasted no time in securing what is now known as Toccoa House Properties.
Today, Toccoa House Properties exists as a one-of-a-kind, highly sought-after event space and wedding venue. At the end of the day, we want your wedding to be the very best that it can be - which is why we're happy to provide some time-tested tips for selecting a location for your wedding.
When selecting a venue for your wedding, it's important to take into account the overall look and atmosphere you wish to achieve. Your chosen wedding style will determine which venues are most suitable for you and your partner.
What time of the year do you want to get married? Once you have an idea of a season, like fall or spring, come up with a list of potential of wedding venues in Blue Ridge, GA, like Toccoa House Properties.
One of the most important steps involved in choosing a wedding venue is to tour the space. Don't be afraid to ask pertinent questions. If the venue manager seems like they have better things to do than answer your questions, look elsewhere.
Once you narrow down your wedding venue choices, consider the amenities and services the venue offers. Be sure to weigh what they offer against your needs and budget to further narrow down your choices.
If you think your guests will hate a particular wedding venue location, why consider it in the first place? Choosing a destination - like Toccoa House Properties - that is within a short driving distance of grocery stores and restaurants is almost always better than a hard-to-access venue.
Do yourself a favor and check out the wedding venue's Google reviews and reviews on other platforms. You can also ask for opinions from people you trust, like friends and family members. Don't be afraid to reach out directly to people who have used the wedding venue previously. A wedding venue in Blue Ridge for couples in Marietta, GA, should be excited to show you their online reviews. If you notice a disparaging review, try asking the owner of the wedding venue to explain their side of the story before writing them off completely.
Try coming up with a list of pros and cons of each wedding venue that you're considering. Doing so can help you whittle your list down to one or two choices. Remember to trust your gut throughout this process. If you've come down to two choices, and something about one of the venues rubbed you the wrong way, it's probably for a reason.
Once you've settled on a wedding venue, it's time to book! As most wedding venues will tell you, try booking your venue at least a year before your wedding is set to take place. Doing so will give you plenty of time to plan. If you need help preparing, don't be afraid to work with a professional wedding planner to make your life easier.
When it comes to tying the knot with your soon-to-be spouse, there's a lot on your plate to consider. Choosing the right wedding space can mean the difference between the wedding of your dreams and an experience you'd like to forget. With six fully-furnished cabins, 17 acres of natural beauty, an array of outdoor activities, a quarter mile of Toccoa River frontage, and much more, there's no better option than our wedding venue in Blue Ridge for couples in Marietta, GA- Toccoa House Properties.

Saint + Goldie has been a long-time dream of Caroline Gordon, Liz Sicard and Bri Williams, and the time was golden to bring it to fruition.
“It was altogether good timing for us to chase the dream,” Williams told What Now Atlanta. “We all have different skillsets we bring to the table, different career paths we’ve been on thus far.”
Whether customers are seeking a gift or furnishing a home, the all-encompassing shop will feature home decor, accessories, children’s items, textiles and even a signature candle scent created with The Minted Market. There will also be larger furniture items and custom offerings.
“Our idea behind it was to be heavily curated, but at all price points,” Sicard said. “Anybody can come in and find a unique or thoughtful gift, whether your budget is 10 dollars or you’re looking to spend upward of a couple hundred. We’re offering something for everyone.”
Each of the owners brings unique experience and expertise to the business.
“We all bring something to the table, with Liz with interior design, Brianna with event and bridal, I do styling,” Gordon said. “We wanted to create a space that we can kind of do everything for you.”
Saint + Goldie is being built out at 397 North Sessions Street, next to Sessions Stand, a coffee shop and bakery.
“It truly came into our laps so perfectly,” Williams said. “It felt so meant to be from the beginning. We knew immediately that was where we wanted to be.”
The trio, who are local to the area and passionate about the neighborhood, have had their eye on the space and the potential it had, especially after Sessions Stand (owned by Katie and Micah Pfister) relocated to the building a few months ago. Then things really fell into place.
“We’ve all lived here for quite a long time,” Sicard said. “We pass by it going to the park. It was always like, that would be such a cool space. Katie and Micah, when they moved Sessions Stand over to the new space, it was kind of wild. I had this tugging on my heartstring, ‘I should ask if they’re gonna have any space available for rent’ … Katie reached out to us, ‘Hey, I hear you guys are interested in opening a space in Marietta.'”
As a vendor at the recent Sessions Stand Holiday Market, Saint + Goldie gave visitors a sneak preview of some of the offerings they’ll be able to find at the shop.
Sicard, Gordon and Williams expressed gratitude for the kindness they’ve experienced through the process, whether it’s customers getting excited for the doors to open, or those involved in the buildout of the shop – all equally important pieces to the puzzle.
As a tight-knit group and built-in support system (Gordon and Sicard are sisters, and Williams was one of the first friends they met when they moved to Georgia from Pennsylvania as kids), the challenges of opening a business become easier to navigate.
“Having a really great support system that we can lean on has been super helpful,” Gordon said. “If one of us is like, ‘This isn’t going well,’ we pick each other up. We’re gonna figure it out.”
With construction almost complete, Saint + Goldie is expected to open in early 2024.
“We’re excited to be a part of the Marietta community,” Gordon said. “We have a lot of events planned for the future, and we can’t wait to open our doors to everyone.”

MARIETTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - More than 400 movie and studio productions are produced in Georgia each year. Big-scale productions happen all over the state.
One of those movies, Reptile starring Benicio Del Toro and Justin Timberlake, just dropped on Netflix. It was partially filmed in Cobb County’s Marietta.
Scouts for Reptile wanted a retro vibe, which they found with The Manely Firm. But instead of a law firm, the building was turned into a real estate company. The production company paid to take over the property for four days.
“There’s hardly a day that goes by in Marietta that you don’t see a film crew set up somewhere. I mean at least weekly,” said Shelia Manely, business manager for The Manely Firm. “I can count on one hand five people that I know who have had filming either in their offices or in their homes.”
Manely said they had a pleasant experience with the movie-making process and they’d do it again, even though the production company threw them a curve ball. Manely called it a plot twist.
“We got a call about 10 o’clock and they said, ‘We want to break out the front window,’” she said. “Then we were like, what? And they said they promised they’d have it boarded up immediately after and replace within 24 hours after and they did.”
Due to a nondisclosure, Manely couldn’t talk dollar amounts but said movie-making helps to offset costs.
The city of Marietta also generates money from movie-making. Parks and Recreation Director Richard Buss says they issue on average about 35 permits for filming per year, but he says local businesses are the ones that really profit.
“We have three or four churches that always provide parking. They’ll be there for four days with the base camp,” Buss said.
According to the governor’s office, 2022 saw a new record. The film and television industry spent $4.4 billion in Georgia.

Marietta leaders could decide on Wednesday if they want to approve an apartment development that some say is too big for the downtown area.
Why it matters: While multi-family construction has boomed in Atlanta over the last several years, many of its suburban counterparts remain resistant to higher-density projects.
The latest: Bridger Properties' plan to build 122 units and 6,000 square feet of commercial space was rejected the second time last week by the Marietta Historic Board of Review.
Catch up quick: The developer in March initially submitted a request to build 135 units in an 84-foot tall building on an existing parking lot at Polk Street and North Marietta Parkway.
What they're saying: Beemon told Axios that after that rejection, Bridger worked with Cobb Landmarks to come up with a project that met the design and height requirements.
The other side: According to the Marietta Daily Journal, Historic Board of Review members still say the current proposal includes too large a building for the area.
What we're watching: The Council meeting starts at 7pm at City Hall.
