The Toccoa House Properties Difference

As a wedding venue in Blue Ridge for couples in Lehigh Acres, FL, Toccoa House Properties is simply magical, where the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains meets the country-chic vibes of modern Appalachia. It has a distinctly custom-built feel, and for good reason. Nearly every inch of the property - from the luxurious cabins within walking distance of one another to the heated pool and more - was purpose-built for exceptional events, like weddings in Blue Ridge.

It all started when Oregonian Greg Spencer initially discovered the Blue Ridge area on a backpacking trip to the Cohutta Wilderness in the 1980s. A short time later, enamored of the area, Greg embarked on a land-purchasing mission that led him to 17 acres of undeveloped acreage. Amazed by the beauty of the Toccoa River and the inspiring views of the surrounding mountains, Greg wasted no time in securing what is now known as Toccoa House Properties.

Today, Toccoa House Properties exists as a one-of-a-kind, highly sought-after event space and wedding venue. As a family-owned and operated business, we take pride in putting on fairytale weddings for you and your guests. Simply put, we aren't afraid to go "above and beyond" for wedding clients. If you need assistance or advice, you can rest easy knowing that our team will answer your calls - not an automated answering machine or third-party service.

Pick a Wedding Date and List of Wedding Venue Choices

What time of the year do you want to get married? Once you have an idea of a season, like fall or spring, come up with a list of potential of wedding venues in Blue Ridge, GA, like Toccoa House Properties.

Keep in mind the following:

  • Guest Count

step-three

Schedule a Tour

One of the most important steps involved in choosing a wedding venue is to tour the space. Don't be afraid to ask pertinent questions. If the venue manager seems like they have better things to do than answer your questions, look elsewhere.

Make sure you take into account:

  • Size of Wedding Venue
  • Ambiance of Wedding Venue
  • Layout of Wedding Venue
 Lehigh Acres, FL
step-four

Consider Services and Amenities

Once you narrow down your wedding venue choices, consider the amenities and services the venue offers. Be sure to weigh what they offer against your needs and budget to further narrow down your choices.

Consider services and amenities such as:

  • Lodging
  • Ceremony and Reception Space
  • Seating

Determine the Location of Your Wedding Venue

If you think your guests will hate a particular wedding venue location, why consider it in the first place? Choosing a destination - like Toccoa House Properties - that is within a short driving distance of grocery stores and restaurants is almost always better than a hard-to-access venue.

Check Out Wedding Venue Reviews

Do yourself a favor and check out the wedding venue's Google reviews and reviews on other platforms. You can also ask for opinions from people you trust, like friends and family members. Don't be afraid to reach out directly to people who have used the wedding venue previously. A wedding venue in Blue Ridge for couples in Lehigh Acres, FL, should be excited to show you their online reviews. If you notice a disparaging review, try asking the owner of the wedding venue to explain their side of the story before writing them off completely.

step-seven

Compare Wedding Venues and Choose

Try coming up with a list of pros and cons of each wedding venue that you're considering. Doing so can help you whittle your list down to one or two choices. Remember to trust your gut throughout this process. If you've come down to two choices, and something about one of the venues rubbed you the wrong way, it's probably for a reason.

Features to consider when choosing your wedding venue may include:

  • Location
  • Amenities
  • Price
  • Reviews
  • Tour
  • Lodging
  • Accessibility
  • Attractiveness of Wedding Venue
 Wedding Packages Lehigh Acres, FL

Confirm and Plan

Once you've settled on a wedding venue, it's time to book! As most wedding venues will tell you, try booking your venue at least a year before your wedding is set to take place. Doing so will give you plenty of time to plan. If you need help preparing, don't be afraid to work with a professional wedding planner to make your life easier.

Some items to plan for may include:

  • DJs or Entertainment
  • Caterers
  • Decorations
  • Attractions
  • Bridal Showers
  • Bachelor Parties
  • Post-Wedding Parties

What is the best internet provider in Lehigh Acres?

Quantum Fiber is the best internet service provider in Lehigh Acres. Quantum Fiber offers symmetrical download and upload speeds, which other ISPs in Lehigh Acres don't. Xfinity and T-Mobile Home Internet provide service to this Florida city as well, so there are a few solid home internet options.

Are you searching for the cheapest plans or the fastest speeds in Lehigh Acres? Look no further than Xfinity, which takes the top spot for both factors. Xfinity's Connect plan costs $20 per month for speeds up to 75 megabits per second -- the most affordable price for broadband in Lehigh Acres. For speed, Xfinity's Gigabit Extra plan offers 1,200Mbps for $85 monthly.

Our methodology

CNET considers speeds, pricing, customer service and overall value to recommend the best internet service in Lehigh Acres across several categories. Our evaluation includes referencing a proprietary database built over years of reviewing internet services. We validate that against provider information by spot-checking local addresses for service availability. We also do a close read of providers' terms and conditions and, when needed, will call ISPs to verify the details.

Despite our efforts to find the most recent and accurate information, our process has some limitations you should know about. Pricing and speed data are variable: Certain addresses may qualify for different service tiers, and monthly costs may vary, even within a city. The best way to identify your particular options is to plug your address into a provider's website.

Also, the prices, speed and other information listed above and in the provider cards below may differ from what we found in our research. The cards display the full range of a provider's pricing and speed across the US, according to our database of plan information provided directly by ISPs. At the same time, the text is specific to what's available in Lehigh Acres. The prices referenced within this article's text come from our research and include applicable discounts for setting up automatic payments each month, a standard industry offering. Discounts and promotions might also be available for signing a term contract or bundling multiple services.

Our take - We like to say that fiber connectivity is your best bet for broadband, and Quantum Fiber proves it by offering symmetrical speeds, reasonable prices and no hidden fees. The Federal Communications Commission reports that service from Lumen Technologies, which owns Quantum Fiber, is available to more than 94% of households in the area. How to find internet deals and promotions in Lehigh Acres

The best internet deals and top promotions in Lehigh Acres depend on what discounts are available during that period. Most deals are short-lived, but we look frequently for the latest offers.

Lehigh Acres internet providers, such as Xfinity, may offer lower introductory pricing or streaming add-ons for a limited time. Many, however, including Quantum Fiber, T-Mobile and Verizon, run the same standard pricing year-round.

What's a good internet speed?

Most internet connection plans can now handle basic productivity and communication tasks. If you're looking for an internet plan that can accommodate videoconferencing, streaming video or gaming, you'll have a better experience with a more robust connection. Here's an overview of the recommended minimum download speeds for various applications, according to the FCC. Note that these are only guidelines -- and that internet speed, service and performance vary by connection type, provider and address.

For more information, refer to our guide on how much internet speed you really need.

How CNET chose the best internet providers in Lehigh Acres

Internet service providers are numerous and regional. Unlike with the latest smartphone, laptop, router or kitchen tool, it's impractical to personally test every ISP in a given city. So what's our approach? We start by researching the pricing, availability and speed information, drawing on our own historical ISP data, the provider sites and mapping information at FCC.gov.

But it doesn't end there. We go to the FCC's website to check our data and ensure we consider every ISP that provides service in an area. We also input local addresses on provider websites to find specific options for residents. We look at sources, including the American Customer Satisfaction Index and J.D. Power, to evaluate how happy customers are with an ISP's service. ISP plans and prices are subject to frequent changes; all information provided is accurate as of publication.

Once we have this localized information, we ask three main questions:

Though the answers to those questions are often layered and complex, the providers who come closest to "yes" on all three are the ones we recommend. When selecting the cheapest internet service, we look for the plans with the lowest monthly fee, though we also factor in things like price increases, equipment fees and contracts. Choosing the fastest internet service is relatively straightforward. We look at advertised upload and download speeds and also consider real-world speed data from sources like Ookla and FCC reports.

The Diocese of Venice in Florida and National Development of America have completed Phase 1 construction of St. Peter Claver Place Apartments, an affordable housing complex within the Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard redevelopment area in Fort Myers.

St. Peter Claver Place Apartments provides affordable housing for qualified residents, those who make up to 60% of the Area Median Income. Phase 1 includes 136 units consisting of two-bedroom, two-bath and three-bedroom, two-bath rental units. The monthly rents range from approximately $600 to $1,300. The community also features a clubhouse, playground and collaborative workspace. Each apartment includes stainless steel appliances, walk-in closets, quartz countertops, vinyl tile flooring and a balcony or patio.

“We are extremely thankful for our continued partnership with the Diocese of Venice and the strong support from the city and elected officials to help bring this project to the community,” said Rick Miller, president of National Development of America. “We’re pleased to offer quality housing at rental rates that working people can actually afford.”

The recent ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by officials from both sides of the partnership between the Diocese of Venice in Florida and National Development of America, as well as Fort Myers Mayor Kevin Anderson; Fort Myers Councilmembers Johnny Streets, Teresa Watkins Brown and Darla Bonk; Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency Executive Director Michele Hylton-Terry; and Florida Housing Finance Corporation Chair Ryan Benson.

“Throughout Fort Myers, people are in need of housing and, in particular, rental housing,” said Most Rev. Frank Dewane, Bishop of the Diocese of Venice. “We are excited to contribute to the residents of our community and help them. The Diocese will also help those who move in further by offering resident assistance programs.”

National Development and the Diocese of Venice embarked on this project eight years ago to address the critical demand for affordable rental housing in Southwest Florida. Through close partnership with the city of Fort Myers, Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency and Lee County Housing Authority, National Development of America was able to overcome various market challenges that significantly impacted the development.

“Our company started over 40 years ago in Fort Myers, and we are invested in this community. We are committed to its residents, and housing is our mission,” said Miller. “This is something we are very excited about and we are thankful for the opportunity to serve the community.”

National Development has recently completed other affordable housing projects throughout Florida, including Casa San Alfonso in Zolfo Springs and San Pedro at Meadow Park in Arcadia.

National Development of America is a Fort Myers-based developer that specializes in affordable and workforce housing. The company has developed communities throughout Florida, Louisiana and Texas, and coordinates general contracting and property management for its developments. Visit national-development.com.

The third-costliest hurricane in United States history directly impacted Southwest Florida one year ago, forever changing the lives, and landscape, that so many call home.

Arriving as a high-end Category 4 storm with sustained wind gusts over 150 mph, Hurricane Ian is a storm that will never be forgotten by those who experienced its power. The system spanned more than 500 miles wide and was the most substantial storm to ever hit the Southwest Florida.

After evolving into a tropical storm on Sept. 21, by the time Ian had arrived to the Gulf side of Florida, it had increased to a Category 4 level storm, and even reached Category 5 criteria before making landfall just below peak strength.

Originally forecasted to impact further north along the coast, Ian had other plans and veered right towards Southwest Florida, officially arriving on Sept. 28.

When the wind and rain subsided, thousands of homes, and lives, were lost.

Ultimately, Ian resulted in 161 fatalities, 150 of which were in Florida with more than 70 occurring in Lee County, far and away the deadliest county for Ian.

Barrier Islands were underwater, bridges were collapsing, roofs were being ripped off like an old Band-Aid.

Lee County officials report the total estimated cost of the storm sits at $297.3 million, with the majority of costs associated with debris removal, solid waste, and emergency protective measures.

Since the storm, 6.29 million cubic yards of debris has been collected throughout the county, to go along with 3.83 million in vegetation, 2.3 million in construction and demolition debris, 36,000 cubic yards of concrete and 145,000 cubic yards of dirty sand.

The county and its residents have worked relentlessly to get back on its feet and restore some sense of normalcy to everyday life. Throughout the county, 101 parks are now open, with three being partially open and nine having to close.

While Ian will never be forgotten, residents around Southwest Florida hope to never face anything like it again.

Beginning Tuesday, August 1, the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) will be conducting system flushing and temporarily change the disinfection process for the drinking water supply in the Lehigh Acres service area.

The FGUA conducts system flushing as part of its prudent utility practice. Flushing will remove sediment from the system that has been in the pipes for some time. Sediment left in the pipes has led to odor and discoloration in some communities, which occurs as chlorine that is used to treat the water subsides.

When the FGUA temporarily changes the disinfection process, the water will be disinfected with free chlorine rather than combined chlorine/ammonia (chloramines).

This conversion to free chlorine (which is a stronger, faster-acting disinfectant) from chloramines (which is a longer-lasting disinfectant) allows the FGUA to perform a water distribution system purge as recommended by the Department of Environmental Protection for water utilities using chloramines as their primary disinfectant.

This temporary change in disinfection is expected to end Monday, August 21.

This process will not cause adverse health effects.

However, during this period, customers may notice some discoloration and or cloudiness in their potable water, they may also find air pockets in the system. The discoloration and air are harmless. Customers may want to run water through the tap until it runs clear if this should happen.

Some areas may also experience a temporary fluctuation in water pressure or slight increase in the taste and odor of chlorine.

Customers who use tap water for kidney dialysis at home should properly monitor their process for complete neutralization of disinfectant residual and should contact their doctor for more information.

Customer should call the FGUA at (239) 368-1615 with any questions or visit the FGUA website at www.FGUA.com for additional information on this process.
