The Toccoa House Properties Difference

As a wedding venue in Blue Ridge for couples in Huntersville, NC, Toccoa House Properties is simply magical, where the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains meets the country-chic vibes of modern Appalachia. It has a distinctly custom-built feel, and for good reason. Nearly every inch of the property - from the luxurious cabins within walking distance of one another to the heated pool and more - was purpose-built for exceptional events, like weddings in Blue Ridge.

It all started when Oregonian Greg Spencer initially discovered the Blue Ridge area on a backpacking trip to the Cohutta Wilderness in the 1980s. A short time later, enamored of the area, Greg embarked on a land-purchasing mission that led him to 17 acres of undeveloped acreage. Amazed by the beauty of the Toccoa River and the inspiring views of the surrounding mountains, Greg wasted no time in securing what is now known as Toccoa House Properties.

Today, Toccoa House Properties exists as a one-of-a-kind, highly sought-after event space and wedding venue. As a family-owned and operated business, we take pride in putting on fairytale weddings for you and your guests. In fact, our unique location and commitment to personalized wedding services are what separate us from other wedding venues in North Georgia.

Simply put, we aren't afraid to go "above and beyond" for wedding clients. If you need assistance or advice, you can rest easy knowing that our team will answer your calls - not an automated answering machine or third-party service.

At the end of the day, we want your wedding to be the very best that it can be - which is why we're happy to provide some time-tested tips for selecting a location for your wedding.

step-one

Choose Your Style of Wedding

When selecting a venue for your wedding, it's important to take into account the overall look and atmosphere you wish to achieve. Your chosen wedding style will determine which venues are most suitable for you and your partner.

Some popular styles to consider may include:

  • Traditional
  • Whimsical
  • Romantic
  • Rustic
  • Fantasy

Pick a Wedding Date and List of Wedding Venue Choices

What time of the year do you want to get married? Once you have an idea of a season, like fall or spring, come up with a list of potential of wedding venues in Blue Ridge, GA, like Toccoa House Properties.

Keep in mind the following:

  • Guest Count
  • Wedding Budget
  • Wedding Style
 Indoor Reception Areas Huntersville, NC
step-three

Schedule a Tour

One of the most important steps involved in choosing a wedding venue is to tour the space. Don't be afraid to ask pertinent questions. If the venue manager seems like they have better things to do than answer your questions, look elsewhere.

Make sure you take into account:

  • Size of Wedding Venue
  • Ambiance of Wedding Venue
  • Layout of Wedding Venue
 Huntersville, NC
step-four

Consider Services and Amenities

Once you narrow down your wedding venue choices, consider the amenities and services the venue offers. Be sure to weigh what they offer against your needs and budget to further narrow down your choices.

Consider services and amenities such as:

  • Lodging
  • Ceremony and Reception Space
  • Seating
  • Day-Of Coordinator

step-five

Determine the Location of Your Wedding Venue

If you think your guests will hate a particular wedding venue location, why consider it in the first place? Choosing a destination - like Toccoa House Properties - that is within a short driving distance of grocery stores and restaurants is almost always better than a hard-to-access venue.

step-six

Check Out Wedding Venue Reviews

Do yourself a favor and check out the wedding venue's Google reviews and reviews on other platforms. You can also ask for opinions from people you trust, like friends and family members. Don't be afraid to reach out directly to people who have used the wedding venue previously. A wedding venue in Blue Ridge for couples in Huntersville, NC, should be excited to show you their online reviews. If you notice a disparaging review, try asking the owner of the wedding venue to explain their side of the story before writing them off completely.

step-seven

Compare Wedding Venues and Choose

Try coming up with a list of pros and cons of each wedding venue that you're considering. Doing so can help you whittle your list down to one or two choices. Remember to trust your gut throughout this process. If you've come down to two choices, and something about one of the venues rubbed you the wrong way, it's probably for a reason.

Features to consider when choosing your wedding venue may include:

  • Location
  • Amenities
  • Price
  • Reviews
  • Tour
  • Lodging
  • Accessibility
  • Attractiveness of Wedding Venue
 Wedding Packages Huntersville, NC
step-eight

Confirm and Plan

Once you've settled on a wedding venue, it's time to book! As most wedding venues will tell you, try booking your venue at least a year before your wedding is set to take place. Doing so will give you plenty of time to plan. If you need help preparing, don't be afraid to work with a professional wedding planner to make your life easier.

Some items to plan for may include:

  • DJs or Entertainment
  • Caterers
  • Decorations
  • Attractions
  • Bridal Showers
  • Bachelor Parties
  • Post-Wedding Parties

A new Apple store in the Charlotte region will make its debut just in time for holiday shopping.

The latest Apple store will open at 10 a.m. Dec. 14 at 8805 Townley Road in Birkdale Village in Huntersville, according to the company’s website.

The new store replaces the Apple Northlake Mall retail location, which closed abruptly on March 1 after three shootings at the mall in 75 days.

Another Apple store is at SouthPark mall at 4400 Sharon Road.

Apple had planned to open the Birkdale store early next year when it announced the location plans in June. But everything came together quickly allowing for an earlier-than-expected opening, company spokeswoman Pia Fontes said.

Apple employees worked hard to get the store ready for customers during the busiest shopping season of the year, said Monica Perkins, Apple market leader.

The Birkdale Village Apple store will offer services including Apple Pickup, a dedicated table-top area for sessions with workers to learn about devices and several display tables to explore products.

Like other Apple stores, customers can receive support with upgrades and trade-in, switching devices and finding the right product. Apple Birkdale Village also is powered by 100% renewable energy, according to the company.

The Birkdale store has 80 employees that collectively speak eight languages, according to Apple.

Store hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-7 p.m. Sunday.

Birkdale Village is a 250,000-square-foot retail center with an outdoor stage, greenspace and retail kiosks that were part of a $20 million renovation, turning it into an outdoor entertainment destination.

Birkdale Village’s redevelopment includes business expansions, relocations and remodels by North American Properties and Nuveen Real Estate.

Several recent and planned national retail store openings include Lilly Pulitzer, Anthropologie and Evereve.

In May, Charlotte-based Girl Tribe Co. closed its Girl Supply store at Birkdale Village after having been open a year, but reopened Girl Tribe Kiosk, a 1972 camper van called “Byrdie Bus,” the same month. A pop-up seasonal market in the former Total Wine space runs noon to 6 p.m. through Dec. 23. The market is closed on Wednesdays.

Dressler’s restaurant, which opened in 2003 at Birkdale Village, closed, but owner Rare Roots Hospitality will open one of its other restaurants, Fin & Fino, in the same space.

Other retailers and restaurants at Birkdale Village include Bartaco, Drybar, Foxcroft Wine Co. and The Good Wurst Co.

“I have a vote and if I don’t use it, then I don’t have a voice,” said Pat Rickert, a Huntersville resident.

In this election, Huntersville voters will also make their voices heard on future transportation needs in town.

“I am probably like everyone else who is going to talk about traffic and roads,” said Rickert. “and curbing growth to a degree until we can catch up with the infrastructure

“You can tell from driving around that we are in a deficit,” said Richard Fernald, Huntersville resident.

The town of Huntsville is growing fast, but Mayor Melinda Bales said the infrastructure hasn’t kept up. That’s why a $50 million transportation bond was placed on the ballot.

“We have got to get caught up on these bonds and projects we have tee’d up,” said Bales. “It will make a difference to the quality of life that our residents enjoy every day.”

If it passes, money from the bond will go towards projects to improve traffic flow, current roads, and intersections.

“We will utilize those for cost-sharing that we have already committed to for NCDOT projects, like the NC-73 widening and the widening of the NC-115,” said Bales. “We are looking to do a second north-south road project connecting the church street extension that will go through downtown up to NC-73 as well.”

If the bond is not approved by voters, Bales said it will take several projects off track.

There’s also an $8 million parks and recreation bond on the ballot to go towards renovating and expanding greenways, parks, and recreation facilities.
